About the Artist
Andrea is a first generation American whose parents immigrated from Hungary shortly after WWII. Born in New Jersey, Andrea received her Bachelors of Architecture from The Pennsylvania State University. Upon graduation, Andrea spent three years working as an intern-architect, but her true passion has always been her art. Her landscape and waterscape portraits are influenced by her many travels through Europe, the United States and elsewhere. Her travels include spending six months in Italy as well as traveling through Hungary, France, Belgium, Germany, St. Kitts, Nevis and St. Lucia. Before moving to North Carolina, Andrea lived in Texas for seven years. As an intern-architect, Andrea produced artistic renderings and graphic designs; she has also taught art lessons in public and private settings.
For over 25 years, Andrea has been studying and practicing different painting techniques. This has developed into her current style consisting of a realistic approach with a hint of impressionism. While most of her pieces are acrylic, Baer's mediums also include: oils, watercolors, ink and graphite. In her pieces, Andrea communicates God's love and presence in all that surrounds us. While hope and tranquility are key emotions brought out in her paintings; her use of light invokes a sense of peace and refuge in the midst of darkness.
